Were the 80's fun?

It wasn't 'too' long after schools became non-segregated so the racial tensions were still fresh in that realm. AIDS became a horrible thing during that decade. Crack became a horrible thing during that decade. Gang violence seemed to take off more so. Reagan was an idiot for getting rid of mental health institutions with nowhere really for those folks to go, so jails became more of the place they got sent to. The Berlin Wall was torn down. MTV was awesome as they played music instead of all the other stuff they changed to. Headbangers Ball was one of my favorites on MTV. L.L. Cool J was the shiznit as well. Many music artists still carrying on into the 80's and beyond, with many new ones becoming. Then, it turned into artists promoting other artists for their 5 minutes (not 15) of fame then they're out. So here we are now.

btw, #45 stole Reagan's "Make America Great" slogan.

As for music in that decade... it seemed "weird" and in the midst of a major change.

There were certain bands that kept up the intensity from the 70s. It went from Hard Rock to alternative led by Bowie.

It was pretty intense for me.

I miss those after school tv shows they were good

I was born in 1986, so I have no firsthand knowledge as to whether the 1980's was fun or not.

I was a little girl during that time and I do remember having lots of fun.

I have very few memories from the 80's. I do like some of the music from that time.

I graduated both HS and college and partied, using most of the substances you'd imagine. Lots of drum machines and big sounds.
