@Adstar on this site both admin and moderators actually do both administration and moderation.
Both are even involved in the coding.
Hense the SW-Admin account. Which is shared.
Biggest difference on this site is the ownership which is a partnership.

The admins run the site and the moderaters moderate it for them aka keep an eye on the people and stuff

Typically it's to do with permissions - on other sites, mods can take action against posts and users, but stuff like creating new groups, modifying site features, adding new features, etc. will be done by an admin.
