How to reframe abuse or trauma?

I've tried for years to reframe the two decades of severe trauma I went through, but I only get *glimpses* of my true self, or self love. It's hard just surviving, never thriving due to fear and PTSD that holds me back, in love and jobs. How to reframe horrible past that you took as YOU? Anyone who has healed from extensive abuse , I'd love to hear HOW you did or how to look at it positively?
