Many different reasons.. People like getting one simple answer.. But real life is often far more complex and often it's a combination of reasons that lead someone to be unable to find a partner..
You will often find someone will put forwards a reason but they will just be covering themselves from revealing the real reasons to save face and discomfort.. Sometimes people are struggling to hide themselves from themselves..

@Adstar some people just won't admit that either no one likes them, or they're hard to deal with, unrealistic expectations, etc...ive been single for a while now...and no women I've been interested in have wanted anything romantic...friends is what they draw it on. I don't do friendsN waste of time for me

@MntoNc Friend zoning is used by a lot of woman to put a guy on the back burner.. While they go out looking for what they consider to be a better man.. If in 10 years time she does not succeed in finding a better man then she will suddenly start showing interest in the friend zoned guy as her retirement option..
But yes at lest we agree on this one thing.. Never waste time with a woman who puts you in the friend zone unless you actually truly only want her as a friend..
As the old saying goes..
If she thinks you're not good enough for her in her prime..
Then you must judge her unworthy of you in her decline..

They probably have been in an unhappy relationship and discovered being single is not a bad thing. In fact it can be quite fun as you only have yourself to please most of the time.
