Do you thank your cashier by name when checking out?

Or is it just me?

I think it stems from me working in retail so long and how boring it was to stand there ringing up folks and having the same interaction with them like a robot.

I liked when a person would say "thank you Nikki".

Made me feel a little more human .

I don’t. It seems...intrusive to me somehow. I opt instead for eye contact and sincerity.

@JustNik calling one by their name is intrusive?🤷‍♀️

@iamnikki LOL I know. I’m weird. It’s just that they didn’t give me their name - their company did. So I find other ways of acknowledging. 🤷‍♀️

@JustNik if they have a name tag, it shows that you pay attention, I try to smile at them as well.
