Anyone a vegan? Any tips?

I always said, that someday in the future I will become vegetarian. And I think I feel ready now. I feel like I don't want to eat meat no more, like I got no taste for it no more. Also I feel so low energy lately, and I hope that would make me more lighter on my feet.
I don't really want eggs either. Milk is tasty, but I siwtched to soya milk a while ago. Only thing is that Imma miss cheese.

Don't make your self missing anything i'd say. Allow yourself to have some cheese in the beginning. Quit what you feel comfortable with quitting already, and make a smooth transition... it is a wonderful journey:)

I am not a vegan, not a vegetarian either, i still eat some meat now and then. But i'm on my way, i'm becoming more and more of a vegan and i observe how my energy is after different foods.

@elafina Thank you. I would love to sit in your class and learn from you.
You will always have my focused attention and respect.

Honestly, I see my myself as a hybrid and wanting to eat everything that is beneficial but yet rewards my senses too. There is so much enjoyment.

I could see every dish you described vividly and I really can’t think of any food, I dislike. I have cooked all of my life and scratch cooking is a hobby.

My Mother was French and taught me from a very young age. I too love to experiment and never will stop learning. Thank you, very much!🤗😋🌸

@Dan193 one go-to breakfast is chia porridge made with walnut-hemp milk. The milk is made in a blender and used to cook the porridge and also to pour on top. This works with oatmeal or a combo of chia and oatmeal as well. It lasts in the fridge all week.

@SW-User nice, thanks. I usually make the oatmeal with water tho, and after I add some blackberry jam in it to sweeten it.

I was vegan for a while, and I felt great during that time!

Something I liked to use was nutritional yeast. I like cheese too... and I found this to be similar to grated parmesan cheese. I'd sprinkle it on top of pasta or veggies. And it has added nutrients like B12 which you need if you're vegan.

@StarLily Thank you very much.

I make this drink in the morning. A bannana, cup of berries, chunk of ginger, 1/4 cup of hemp hearts or protien powder and almond milk. Havent been sick in a couple years and i feel more focused in the morning.

Only tip I can tell you is to eat your calories, don't restrict. There's also meal planning apps that are great,

Platejoy and the nutritarian diet website (has a membership that has a lot of recipes but has both vegan and non vegan recipes,) I recommend these for meal plans.

But I also encourage reading... Dr. Greger has books and cookbooks that are decent. Some of his books are just straight information.

The Starch Solution, a variation of the vegan diet. Good easy beginner food if you're easing out of the SAD.

That's what I recommend.

Other than that, I recommend a vegan based omega 3 however there's lots of plant based omega if you don't want to supplement, b12 and vegan D supplement but that's all.

Vitamin D you can get from the sun but if you don't go out is the only reason I'd recommend it.

B12 is about the only thing that seems to be a must have even for meat eaters.

Protein is easy and studies show that your body converts everything else. There's studies that say there's no difference between beta carotene and animal based A.

As long as you eat and don't restrict you'll be fine.

Not a vegan, just came to mind that "B" vitamins are often missing from the vegan's diet. It's why many complain of hair loss etc.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@curiosi I see. Thank you, I'll look into that.

I went vegan in February. I haven’t had any problem finding good stuff to eat. I wasn’t big on cheese but once in a while I make a quesa sauce with cashews or buy vegan cheese.

Lentils are very handy. I make a lentil chorizo that is great in a burrito.

I make falafel and freeze them. Those on top of a slaw makes a great one dish meal.

@SW-User Thank you.

I’ve switched to soy yoghurt and milk, and as soon as they make perfect egg and cheese substitutes, I’m all in 😀
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Uachtarain I'd say that soya milk is better than the cow milk, at least better fhan the ones they sell in supermarkets.
Why would you want to become a vegan?
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Spoiledbrat It's more like I don't have a taste for meat nor eggs no more. So since I'm not gonna eat them, that kinda makes me vegetarian.
Basically it's more like I don't eat meat so that makes me vergetarian. Instead of I want to be a vegetarian, so I won't be able to eat mean.
I don’t eat much red meat myself. I kind of also lost a taste for it and have eaten less overtime so I can relate to that. @Dan193

@Spoiledbrat Exactly.

Top tip for Kale:
Lightly oil the pan it makes it easier to scrape straight into the trash!
You're welcome ✌🍷
