wtf, this is how people hire these days

A snapshot from linkedin.
Nanori · F
I agree with it
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@Nanori then maybe he shouldnt make a sweeping statement like that, he needs to be specific in his statement.Or he is setting a wrong precedent.
Nanori · F
@jhontomreturns1 he's the one hiring so he probably knows what he's doing and looking for. 🤷‍♀️
@jhontomreturns1 I myself am willing to frankly discuss hiring discrimination from the point of the applicants..although I don't think that's the real point here.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Why I feel this is not going to be paid well...
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@CrazyMusicLover lol, yeh..thats true.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
On the one hand, experience isn't everything. For instance, I got this job despite having a terrible resume and only the word of a friend, and in less than three years, I was basically running the team. Meanwhile, the person hired at the same time as me had a perfectly tailored resume with decades of experience, and they were fired for incompetence in under three months.

So... I can't really disagree with this philosophy. On the other hand, I would really like to have someone on my team with a vague idea of what they're doing right at the start. I'm getting a little tired of training new people from the ground up.
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@FaeLuna It depends on the type job, mission critical jobs arent and can never be recruited like this.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@jhontomreturns1 Oh, absolutely agreed there. My job is considered mission critical, so that's why I'm always surprised at how it turned out.

That’s how Amazon hires workers for their sweatshops
@SW-User No Brain required - do you know what a box looks like - yes ? - hired !
AirForce687 · 36-40, M
@SW-User How dare you accuse Amazon of having such things. Without Amazon hardly anyone would get next day deliveries.
SW-User
@AirForce687 Lol It’s true though
What a pile of bullshit - hire for what ? working at a grezzzzzzy spoon ?
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@MarmeeMarch 😆..lol
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
@MarmeeMarch

Or baiting hooks for a fishing guide. Do well enough and be promoted to Master Baiter😂
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
It’s like an ad to pick up dog poop. Just because you’re a warm body doesn’t mean you know shit.
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@Keepitsimple True that..
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
Learn, grow, and succeed, eh?

Sounds like they're applying to be a porn star...
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@AlienZipper lol..lmao
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
@jhontomreturns1

Hey, I can't help it if my mind's in the gutter today 😂
wintersecret · 41-45, M
Where are such people on Earth nowadays :P
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
They want u to do something they don't wanna do cause its tooo effing HARD.

Ads like this are an example of their OWN complaint.

Democracy in the workplace would give employees their humanity back. No reason we can't have it. We can create it with proper reading and theoretical background. THE LITERATURE IS OUT THERE

The boss wasn't born to OWN u.
ammelee · F
sounds like my dad wrote that
jhontomreturns1 · 36-40, M
@ammelee 😆
ExtremeNext · 31-35
Sounds good to me
@ExtremeNext everyting in the ad is a warning.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
Google, 'Mike Rowe Works' and
'Mike Rowe Foundation'

Mike Rowe (tv's Dirty Jobs), is all about getting people back into the trades because there is a labor shortage with So many people being pushed into college.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@RoxClymer the problem is too many people going for bachelors and masters degrees in humanities/liberal arts when 90% of the jobs are in technical skills/associates degrees

that's an Awesome way to hire.

it has only been the last 20 years or so the college education mattered as much.

before that as long az you were willing to learn on the job, you were hired.
JoePourMan · 61-69, M
This is probably a very plan for the hires they are looking for. I don't see a problem with it
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
lol, anyone that believes that bullshit has never had a real job with real challenges and real consequences...
Well an opportuinty for anyone who isn't very experienced or experienced at all.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
It's really hard to either advertise a job with an accurate job description, or apply for one knowing exactly what you're getting into.

When i see this kind of thing it just says
Apply using the same wording i used
How are you supposed to assess something as definitive as 'character' without spending time with them first ?
