Why won’t someone just let go of a dead person?

I mean dead means their gone! I know it’s sad but it’s the truth. My friend won’t let go of her deceased sister and it’s been six years. Why do people cry years after someone died? She bursted our crying when she talked about her sister. I didn’t wanna say get over it. I comforted her.

There's a similar situation going on with a friend of mine. Her dad passed away about 5 months ago and she posts pictures of him daily on FB. It's getting too much I don't get it either, if she stops doing that she won't forget him. Actually that's the issue, they think that letting go equals forgetting. Humans do forget though it's very natural plus again it's not like you're going to forget completely they of course will live in your memories forever.
