What do YOU think of Affirmative Action?

I dunno. I don't find many Asian and white kids in the ghettos, projects, and cages, riddled with poverty and broken families at the rates of blacks and Latinos/as, so it makes sense to me to compensate for having to deal with stuff that's not in their control messing up their ability to focus and learn in schools and excel for their future

If you really take the time to understand what Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity means, it's hard to not agree with it.

Affirmative Action = make an effort to find people who are well qualified and help them be well qualified.

Equal Opportunity = Once you find people, for some position, treat them all equally.

I've definitely been the recipient of the Affirmative Action ... I probably got more mentoring and coaching at my company than a guy might have gotten ... I'm a woman in a tech job, a real minority ... but, when the decision was made to put me in the position I'm in, I was very well qualified for it !!! I'm pretty confident that if I was a guy, I'd end up in the same place, but TBH, it would have definitely taken me longer to get there !!!

It is racism/sexism writ large. It should be completely banned.

Is it racism against whites and Asians? No. Affirmative action is a policy in which an individual's color, race, sex, religion or national origin are taken into account to increase opportunities provided to an underrepresented part of society. It’s a good thing that the U.S. has this.
