People being self efficient is a scary thought for the Government.

Honest question: what would happen if a solar flare knocked out our grids for 6+ months?

@Peaceful: most things would become obsolete. Any cash in bank vaults would become seized by government unless you had printed proof of your recent account balance. Most currency would still hold value but the world as we know it and the laws and forms of governing would suffer greatly. Lots of suicide...many people are unskilled at basic survival and sadly wouldn't survive. Best part is... it could totally happen... I've also heard theoris that the earth's magnetic poles will shift causing a similar effect as well as altering the tilt of the axis earth rotates on... did I miss something? Feel free to pm
