How romantic is the story behind your parents meeting each other?

extremely romantic IMHO... dad was 24, and just returned from a German prison camp after being liberated by General Patton... mom was a volunteer for the USO.. she saw him across the room and thought he was so handsome... 🥰

She was a glamorous Marilyn Monroe wannabe and he picked her up and threw her in the ocean and ruined her hair and makeup so she threw sand in his face.
I don't consider that too romantic but they were both weird.

My dad put an advert in the news paper , he had a dream about meeting my mum a day before he met her and she answered it and he met her the next day. He sent flowers to her college classroom as she was in college at the time she left after her first week there 😅 they then went out for drinks and that then they started getting serious. Marriage came a few months after and then I came along. They used to send each other recordings and love letters.

You know... when they were alive... I just knew my parents met in High School.

After my mom passed and I reached out to one of her friends... I found out that my mom stole my dad from one of her friends.

Not very romantic. My dad was drunk with his navy buddies at a mexican chain restaurant, and trying to eat a potted plant. My mom was there with friends. I honestly have no idea how it worked out.

They met at school. Dad at the local boys, mum at the local girls. They met at a debating thing at 15. Eloped at 25. Kids at 27 and 38. Married 41/42 years, depending on which wedding you go by.

they were neighbors as kids. Friends, dating, married. Together 58 years. Friends 65 years. He passed away two weeks ago.

Not very. They met at a gathering through mutual friends and hit it off. They were best friends for a couple of years before they got together. She was interested in him from the start, he wasn’t keen because he had gotten out of a serious relationship not long before he met her. But eventually i guess he developed feelings too and it went from there.

My dad at 14, was a butcher's boy. He used to help deliver meat in the village where my mum lived and my gran had a sweet shop. When he dropped off my Gran's order he would buy some sweets and then share them with my mum, who was 11, sitting in the van. Little did they know, they would meet up again 10 years later 🥰

My dad was in the army. Don’t know how they met. They divorced so can’t be that romantic 🤷🏻‍♀️

So very romantic...they met at a bar my mother was working at.
