@Stereoguy I can only work when Im near my son's dad, so working summer by the beach then on the road the rest. Gotta homeschool and taking college courses so its gonna be a hybrid life. Always a vacation to me :)

I've done it many times in the past...not road trips, just midnight long drives. Living with my narcissist husband was no pretty life. I had to do it for my sanity. I always took my son along for midnight long drives.

I found myself up super early Saturday morning so I took a couple hour zero destination road trip. By the time I returned to town everything was open and I did my shopping then went home.

A bit weird but just driving to nowhere was relaxing.

I do that often. I drive an old car, and it needs to be used daily to keep the battery alive. I do a random trip (usually an hour) each day, as I don't commute to work and back.

@Stereoguy Not really. I travel in silence. The car radio uses casettes, and I only own CD's. I usually drive to enjoy the sights of moutains, and bendy roads.

@Lanyx My car was behaving in just the same way, until I asked my mechanic to replace the battery. They told me I actually needed a new alternator, and the battery was fine. They were right. I haven't driven in 3 weeks, and yesterday the car started right up. $700.00.

Having the farm now certainly seems like the genius move . We go there for road trips/ fun . Is a very low case county . The entire family loves it there! Going tonight actually for a long weekend

I did that quite often with my parents, as a little girl, and later with the third ex, before things went south. It used to be really boring, as a child...but later, as an adult, the exploring was my own idea...and I did love that part.

@Stereoguy It was. Started by looking at car lots, got some Wendy's drive through and drove back roads off the beaten path so to speak. Ended up running into an Interstate and just headed home from there.
