@Stereoguy that would be a great trip too. I hope that you're able to go.

I have a very sick friend who can't risk visiting, and it really hasn't been safe for him to come over here. I can no longer visit him, as he only has the sofa for guests, and he needs to lie down upon it more or less constantly.

I had to cancel the first two weeks of Occupational therapy for my hand, because I came down with a 2 week long sore throat after going to two doctor's appointments.😢

I've noticed I am ordering more canned goods through the mail, and cleaning supplies...just in case. Deprivation of any sort isn't good for my head. 😞

My summer actually started early as my school shut down, While I had many online meetings, online conferences, and paperwork, my workdays and workload was definitely reduced. I was fortunate as my assignment was a high needs SE Pre-K class. The upper grades had a greater workload.

I have been working every summer at a day camp. Not this summer! Camp was canceled. Instead, I am working two jobs. I am working at a hotel and a supermarket to pay my summer rent. Teachers don’t get paid in the summer contrary to what some people think.

I have to get up around 4:30 AM to get ready for the hotel job 5-6 mornings a week. I work from about 6-12 there. Sometimes, I am asked to work longer though.

I work 4-5 evenings at the supermarket as either a bagger or a cashier. Usually, I work from 4-8.

I won’t be going anywhere this summer. My social life is pretty non-existent. I do GE together with a couple of friends each week. Sometimes, friends come back here from elsewhere to visit family and I get together with them too.

I live in a tourist area and business is down despite what the Chamber of Commerce says. It is obvious. The hotel has definitely taken a hit from what I have been told. The Fourth of July crowd was definitely down in town and on the beaches. Our big road race was even canceled.

Overall, my summer has been okay. I need to find time to get my hair dealt with and get to a couple of my doctors and dentist, if possible.

@Stereoguy Wow! We didn’t have anything like that at my HS. That is pretty cool to offer that.

I woke up one morning with a nightmare that I would never see my mom again. I want that nightmare to be wrong. But she is 10-12 hours away, (depending on large city traffic.)We are all well but mom is 85. I haven’t been able to see her In person other than FaceTime. I guess that’s my greatest concern. Second thing I’m missing: I usually take at least one beach trip. Haven’t done that either. Everything else I can do with or with out. We’ve ventured out to parks.

Thanks. Since I’m diabetic I’m trying to stay home. My partner says he loves me and doesn’t want to lose me. I’m getting bored of not planning weekend putting and not having dates. But yes mom and the beach, I miss the most.@Stereoguy

Yes it has. It made me happier. Less anxious. Safer. Could sleep better at night. The nightmares became infrequent. I felt saner. The flashbacks became easier to control and snap out of. I know it's the exact opposite of what most other people felt. I'm terrified to think about what will happen once everything opens up again. I don't want to go crazy.

After Memorial day there was a ten-fold increase as well as another increase in Covid19 cases in my hometown due to relaxed measures. I'm lucky I get to work from home. Will be having a staycation.

@Stereoguy Does falling off my bike onto the cement or watching the fireworks from my porch count?

JoePourMan · 61-69, M
2 vacations, a wedding, and family reunion cancelled.
Job disappeared, bankruptcy.
Added: Painting, garage and basement projects.
Lots more fun time with my beautiful wife.
All in all, a pretty good trade off. I'm blessed

@Stereoguy Thanks

Things were cancelled on me just as I was about to book. Retained one booking soon which I shall be able to use. Plan to travel next month.

Bus pass and rail card have been redundant after going hundreds of miles in January and February. Suspect face covering (not necessarily mask) protection is illusory and only there for comfort.

Three weddings got cancelled, any hope of a day trip to the beach got cancelled, my plans to collect national park passport stamps is on hold, the trip to Europe I had thought about doing is no longer in consideration, and I wasn't able to visit my dad this summer.

💠Had to alter or cancel lots of 1-1 work with clients.
💠No meetings attended other than via Skype.
💠Certain roads have been closed to 'outsider-traffic' making travel difficult.
💠Haven't been able to visit family for over a year now. First because of work commitments then Covid since March.
I live as recluse
