Why can't we just be great for being?

I have found lately that ppl ask me if I am white wash or how they tell me they are white washed. I find these words degrading in a sense like why do people have to use that word, its annoying and irritates me. Can't I just be great, speak well, live a certain way, do things a certain way, etc? To be me these words are quite ridiculous.

I agree! I really wish people stopped telling us to get better jobs, and get better degrees or go to school... damn if they don’t pay our bills, leave us alone and appreciate our efforts you know ✌️

@Specialyouare These words never bother me before but recently they have been. Like why can't I just be Latina who happens to be sometime of way. I feel like if it does not fit ones stereotype it's like oh "You must be white washed." NO I am not I am just me.
