No, it's as the health experts say it is, only it's right at the beginning at the moment. The world went through it's last pandemic with the spanish flu around 1918. This time they're trying to minimise the deaths by preventing medical services from being flooded with patients which is the reason for the restrictive measures.

No people are generally stupid and there doesn't have to be a conspiracy for it to be a dumb reaction although Im not sure thats its really an overreaction.
