Why can Tylenol make a fever go down?

My stomach feels slightly queasy from throwing up last night and yes, I can Hold down Tylenol and fluids.

@XenonRush then do that. Sip clear fluids until nausea is gone for a couple hours and after that start a bland diet.

I don't think they know. It just does. Ibuprofen does too, but that works differently.

Pro tip if you are throwing up, both are hard on your stomach. Better to just get out from under covers or take a quick warm (not hot) shower. Even a wet cloth over your skin will help a little.

Theoretically it stops cyclooxygenase and decreases prostaglandin concentrations in the brain and that changes the firing frequency of neurons responsible for hermoregulation.

Lowering your fever isn't a solution. Treat the cause and see a professional. Depending on your case, there are risks for taking this medication.
