How can I go from being happy moments ago right into wanting to lay down on the subway tracks to die not long after?

I was doing great earlier now I'm in a down and out kind of mood.

Feelings are fleeting I guess. Same thing happens to me and I ask the same question. Life affects us all differently. My guess is we are happy and minor or major things sneak up on us and we overreact and start spiraling down. Cause we need more time to live in that happy state consistently not to be so fragile. I may be speaking more for myself but that is my experience. The way people make it sound, I should just learn to cut it out. It’s not that easy. It doesn’t work like that. I need tools, interventions, support. And time. Positive changes.

You are taking too much notice of your feelings. These fleeting things are based on our thoughts, some of which are crap.

If you are feeling something that doesn’t seem logical, it is most likely from crappy thinking.

Ignore it and continue on with your life:)

It could be that you get overwhelmed. Too much interaction and you may need some quiet time to recharge.

@curiosi Most of the time I hear or see something that triggers an old memory of a not so good time,place or person and I just keep going deeper down the rabbit hole. This time it was looking up dessert recipes and I stumbled upon how to make Conchas. This led to my dad's side of the family and how they don't give a shit about any of us. Just found myself getting angrier and sadder.

@Astro I know that feeling.
@Astro If you hit the floor so quickly, then depression or bipolar disorder would be my two usual suspects.

i hope you feel happier soon.

@HootyTheNightOwl It comes in cycles I should be swinging back up before the night ends. My mood constantly changes without warning.
@Astro i suspect that mine is misdiagnosed bipolar type 2... i spend most of my time feeling depressed and prozac didn't really change matters any for me.

The rollercoaster of depression and anxiety is not very fun...
Astro · 56-60, M
@Paintedfox No it isn't.
