I had this plan to tell everyone that I'm leaving (work), when I'm going on vacation. Like a prank, also to get them to miss me more.

Anyway, I told a guy at work today, and he was ligitimally sad, so now I feel bad. Should I power through it, or should I just not do it?

:) I think I was like 5 years old when I also started wondering if anyone really knew I existed. Like I would go days without anyone seemingly paying attention to me as they went about their day.

So I decided to hide in the garage for a while, and see if anyone came looking for me, worried or concerned about my whereabouts.

I was there for for what seemed like hours, just me and the spiders, darkness, and heat. It was the middle of summer, tin roof and no ventilation.

Finally I came out of hiding, or was driven out by the heat. I can't remember which. Ready to be hugged, made a scene over, ..... and missed.

No such luck. Everyone acted like I had been there all along, ignoring me like they had before. No one had missed me.

Oh well (shrugging shoulders).

@Heartlander I used to do that too, right before I knew my father would come home from work. First time he found it funny. Second time he yelled at me to not do it again.

When you really leave they wont care. It would annoy me if a coworker did that unless you work at a youthful fun place where pranking is appreciated

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit They need me. I was told they want to promote me. So I doubt they'll fire me over something like this. However if you think that it might annoy them, probably I shouldn't go through with it.

I could just tell people, but emidiently tell them I am joking. That will be funny too, I suppose.
