Whats a good wine thats not expensive?

My husbands inexpensive whine is, "oh can we not go shopping?"

If you just going for the alcohol, bring along a bottle of Bacardi 151 cause your not going to get anything higher than 14%. Not in the US.

I thought the idea of a tasting is that the winery (or whoever) offers several to try in the hope you will buy a case or two of one you like. It’s not like going into a wine shop and choosing one bottle out of hundreds. And you don’t have to buy any at all.
