Is trying to eat 1000 calories a day a good idea?

That's my new diet plan

Eat according to what u burn off. Find a healthy balance

Only if you have less than 14 lbs to lose, and only short-term. I ate 1000 calories for years, with a few days going to about 1400-1500. It kept my weight stable. Now, I’d be starving, and couldn’t do it, but I also lift weights and do cardio. It depends on your activity level.

@Carissimi I could afford like 20lbs

Start with 1500. It may be a bit slower, but you can sustain it better. Adjust as needed. @MizzBella
Good luck . It doesn't sound like much.
Check with a dietitian.

No, and any doctor or dietician would recommend against it. 1200 calories a day is the recommendation in the most extreme cases. 1600-1800 and increased physical activity is a more realistic recommendation for someone who isn’t morbidly obese.

Be careful! Your brain alone uses something like 250 calories a day, more if you are a deep thinker or always learning new things.

No. If you're counting calories go for at least 1200 of nutritionally balanced calories.
