to people who's mother has passed away.

I often wonder how other people found people's remarks irritating when their mother died.
I was asked:)Can you still live there or do they want you out. (very comforting NOT)

You find yourself a nice boyfriend. (I said I was not having an affair with my mother)

Are you going to get yourself another dog (my dog passed 3 months before my mum died)

People just don’t know how to respond. They just say useless and brainless things very lazily without thinking, and they think they have helped. Loss of a parent is irreparable. I’m lucky to have both of mine even if they ain’t great parents. They can’t be replaced. It’s family, it’s forever.
Some people don’t think 🤷‍♀️
I still miss my mom.

People don't know what to say in these situations. I lost my mother in January after a long illness. I tried to look at the comments from others compassionately, as my mother would have. Even the strange ones. I miss her.

In times of grief, we don’t always know what to say. One option is to just be quiet and be there. Another used all too often is to just keep talking.

I’m sorry you lost your mom. 15 years after I still miss my mom.

unfortunately I think they feel they have to say something but sometimes it's best to say less in some circumstances....
