Creatine before or after a workout?

I've been using it 30 min before my workouts but makes me feel bloated and it's ruining my workouts.

Just before work out. I have started to do workout too. But i dont take suppliments. You can talk to any trainer for tips

@Lostpoet did you take creatine after joining a gym? What brand do you use?

@SW-User Yeah it was after I joined the gym it's just plain creatine I think the brand name is cellucor. I actually started to mix it with juice like wildbill said and I don't feel bloated while working out anymore n

@Lostpoet Nice. I don't do very hard exercises. Just few reps of pushups , barbell curl(7pound dumbbell) and some squats. It take me only 10 mins to workout at home. So I was thinking if I require it or should I join a gym then try it. Also is it safe for fatty liver issues.

I have read that 3g-5g is enough for a day. But needs lots of water intake too. Some people take it with juice. Creatine monohydrate is suggested as the best. However you need to take some amount of creatine before and immediately after workout. Which gives you strength. You can give break for a month or two from creatine after 12weeks or regular intake. I won't be touching it untill I start with serious and lifting things up. 🙂

@Lostpoet that's what its meant to do (draws/retains water into muscles); staves off muscle exhaustion when you work up a sweat; I just push through it

I always found that it reduced impact fatigue and sped up recovery as well (after 10-15 miles, running on pavement feels like stomping concrete barefooted when fatigued)

Then do it after. Keep a food diary, also, and make note of what foods make you feel bloated, so you can avoid them.
Also if you're trying to build muscle, high protein, and low or healthy carbs only will help you get cut.

It doesn't matter. No evidence that before or after is better. But if you take it after you want to do it pretty soon after your workout. Make sure to take it with a lot of water.
Are you taking 5g a day?

@BeefySenpie Maybe I'll try that instead I just went 5months without working out last year and I was trying to make up for the gains I lost.

@rachelsj I'm past the loading stage. It actually wasn't messing with my lifting when I was doing that.
It gives me terrible diarrhea. I can't take it.
