I'm reflecting on the people in my life who I've had to let go of.

For many and varied reasons but primarily because they were toxic and slowly poisoning me.
There was one friend in particular and I still think of her even when I don't want to.
She stole meds, jewelry and money from me and to top it off left a syringe in my parent's bathroom when we were both staying there. Luckily I found it first.
I wrote her a lengthy letter explaining why we could no longer be friends and she accused me of ruining her life.
Have you had to eject someone or some people from your life for your own wellbeing?

I'm sure most people have had to cleanse at one time or another in their life. It's hard at first, but eventually, I think you are that it was the right thing to do, and you at least you can take solace in that.

@SW-User Agreed. I guess it's a hazard with human interaction. The bad comes with the good.

@Cavedweller nicely said.

Yes. Sometimes it's the best thing to do. Your former friend sounds like a drug addict. They are like people in an old sci find movie who've had their brains taken over by evil aliens. You did the right thing. Stick with it.

@greenmountaingal And humanity. And their ethics/morality take a beating too.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Cavedweller And if you attempt to protect yourself from them, they act like YOU are cruel and heartless.

@greenmountaingal That's a sociopath through and through.
I worked at a toxic company and although I don't work there anymore I have dreams of those people fucking me over all the time. I had one this morning where I trusted a co worker to drive my car and then the car was not returned. Something similar happened with a company vehicle. The relationships with these people ended as soon as I quit the job.

A lot of them, it's a hard thing to do. I want to believe in people. I also want to be a kind person and can't let other's poison infect me or I may end up like them.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@curiosi I dearly want to give people the benefit of the doubt and trust with impunity. But that way lies hurt and disappointment.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Cavedweller The benefit of the doubt is a legal concept, for courtrooms and jury rooms, not for everyday social life. And second chances are for children because they are still learning how to behave well.

I think we've all come across those people... Often they're interesting, even exciting... But vampires!
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@ozgirl512 Yes! Exactly! Psychic and emotional vampires. My radar has been honed because of repeat experiences. I can smell them at a hundred paces.

@Cavedweller it's ok to dabble a little bit... You just need to stay away from the edge of the vortex ;)

Its not voluntarily that I reflect on them... when It happens it effects my days and nights. Like right now I’m trying not to ... and I’m loosing all over again
Absolutely. More than once.
