NRA needs to get on top of this and get rid of these laws. Florida Man Lost His 2A Rights, Thanks To Red Flag Laws And Mistaken Identity

Just last week, a man in Florida had his firearms confiscated simply because he had the same name as a criminal. That's right. A man was stripped of his Second Amendment right...because the police failed to differentiate a law-abiding citizen with a thug.

The man in question is 5'8. Carpenter is 5'11. The alleged drug dealer is 110lbs. Carpenter is over 200. The man has black hair. Carpenter is completely bald. Last but not least, the man in question is covered in tattoos, and Carpenter only has a few.

Even though it was evident they had the wrong man, Carpenter was forced to hand over his firearms. There was no hearing or any kind of court proceeding.

Carpenter's firearms had to remain in police custody until the plaintiff can say, in court, that he's not the man that she filed a complaint against. He'd then have to petition the court to get his firearms back...and he would have to bear the cost.
First world problem. CSIS, the FBI and CIA that is services from 2 different countries instead of doing their homework shipped off a Canadian citizen to Syria to be tortured (back before America stopped outsourcing torture) all because he shared a name with an extremist. Funny enough this did not happen to people named Jerry Adams.

I heard about a gun owner whose ex wife was pissed and called and reported him as armed and mentally unstable, and he wasn't mentally unstable. She was. The police pounded on his door at 5:15am, he answered the door with his shotgun in hand, as anyone would with that pounding on the door at that hour, and the police shot him dead.

Better that than apprehending the real thug and seeing him get away with it on some legal technicality. You make it sound like living without guns for a few weeks is some kind of hardship. Get over it already.

It would appear that only the guilty are "innocent until proven guilty." The truly innocent aren't afforded any legal protections at all. Police state mentality.

Come hell or high water the libs are determined to have a gun grab. These feel good laws are nothing more than erosion of our rights.

You think the NRA runs the show dude? Really? The same organization that served as a conduit for foreign money to impact our election? The same organization headed by a guy who tried to take $6.5M from donations to buy a mansion until he got caught? The guy whose wife traveled first class and spent tens of thousands of donors money on a personal make up artist?
Don't be a chump dude.
And try to tone down the typical gun freak whining, ok? Man up.
