Checked on someone yesterday, to make sure he was okay. He tried to commit suicide a couple of weeks ago.

Tipped a lot extra to our waiter because he had made a mistake and gave our check to another table, and they already paid it, so he was trying to get it all fixed with the manager and the system, and he was clearly having a panic attack. He looked so thankful when he realized what we had done.

@CountScrofula I try! I know how bad it is when you think you've messed up and have to explain to other people what you did, and ask them for help.

@FaeLuna Yeah absolutely. Particularly when tips become so important and things mess up like that. People make mistakes, and unlike waiters, I don't get my pay docked every time I mess up.

@CountScrofula Basically the manager overrode the other table's check so that the final balance to us was the amount we would have owed anyway. I don't know if the difference between the two checks is going to come out of his pay for the night, and I don't know how much the difference was, but I figure every extra dollar I gave made the mistake a little less painful.

I can't really claim it was a good deed, because it ticked me off. Both a good friend of mine and my next door neighbor are USING my free shipping accounts, and I have had to float my friend loans for about two months so he can order all the parts for his truck. It messed up my checking this month, because I didn't get to the bank.

I suppose it seems like a good deed...to them.
