Theres two conditions i can name.

1 - aquagenic urticaria. causes hives on the skin only, doesnt produce histamine and likely does not involve the immune system. causes itchy hives where water touches the skin. doesnt matter the purity of the water, itll still cause hives.

2 - secondary drowning where a small amount of water gets in the lungs that doesn't cause harm by itself, causing the lungs to produce an overactive immune response making the lungs to swell up (can be potentially fatal if the airways swell shut)

although aquagenic urticaria is not technically an allergy (and i dont think the second one is either)

which of these two would be closest to having a true allergic reaction to water?
