People in America are you a little afraid to go into public places in fear of a person shooting you and has your answer changed?

Update: it kind of shocks and saddens me how “normalised” this has seemed to have become there. 200+ shootings in a year is not normal 😟

No. Shootings aren't as common as the media seems to want to make us believe. At least that's what I think. Idk 😕
@RebornPhoenix haven’t there been close to 250 or more just in the last year? Lmao

@RemovedUsername650611 there have been that many but the majority I think are domestic related
@SW-User that seems even worse. Your own people killing each other. Domestic terrorism

I was a little more worried at the time of the Beltway Snipers, though that probably wasn’ t really rational.

@Poppies I was in their primary area, so there was some reason to be concerned, but most people didn't care.

Yes, I was also in their hunting ground.

No. My insurance is paid up. When it's time it's time. Whether it's a bullet or old age I will eventually go. Hopefully it's peacefully. Besides I live and work in NYC it's impossible for me to be afraid to go out in public places if I expect to work here.

Long time, no see!
I'm not. I trust my intuition. If something feels off, I make different plans. It's saved my ass more than once.

Oh hell no, there are over 40,000 traffic deaths every year and no one asks are you afraid to get on an automobile
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Sadly, I knew more people who died from drug overdose and auto accidents than from crazed gun-persons. Make that many, many more.

I'm afraid of a shooting happening in that public space, but not the public space itself.
But you can't exactly stop your life even if you're scared, you know? You just have to be aware of your surroundings in case you have to get out of that sort of situation.

It does cross my mind from time to time, but I don't leave my house often anyways. This also reminds me of a South Park ep where there's shootings going in schools.
@passingby8 like I said....scary how normalised it has become

No. You would probably have a better chance of being struck by lightening than being shot.
@robb65 ehh...
SW-User
No. But I do have thoughts in the back of my mind of what steps I need to take if i ever end up in that situation
Well since I'm afraid of large crowds anyway...
SW-User
Nope I aint afraid.
