As someone who has been through rehab for drinking and attended AA for years to follow, to this day I am not sure if alcoholism is a disease.

I think the same with drug addicts once it gets to a certain point it becomes one and it's a battle that one could win or lose.

No. It can sure be a harmful addiction though.
