Why is florida called the sunshine state if it rains and storms 79% of the time?

@Itsjustbrit I think they have more lightening strikes than any other state. I didn't know lightening came from sunshine.

Ah what part of Florida do you live on? It sometimes depends on what area you are in, but where I’m at it usually gets pretty bad storms every year and most of the year too.@remindjeff

An optimist chose the name? Greenland was covered in a lot of ice (global warming is
eating it away). Iceland is mostly free of ice. Sense of humour?
