How do people just not feel concern for others?

How do people figure out where they draw the lines of who they want to care about and who can get bent? How can they tolerate that some people are treated differently based on which side of an invisible line they were born on while still believing all men are created equal? Is it really that rare to just care about everyone?

To care...or not?

1. First step, is oneself. You have overcome your life situations, you have trust in who you are. Then you can be of service.
2. You know you, you validate yourself, you complete you.
3. Your energy, your health, your mind wellbeing.
Then you can be of service, not to drain your own resources, your own peace of mind,

We can do basic kind jestures to those in our community.
A. Help an old lady with her shopping, her home cleaning.
B. We can smile at each person we pass by, as we walk to shop, walk to work.
C. Pay for the groceries of any shopper, pay for their lunch.

In life, the huge difference is how people Behave vs where they are born or the type of body they have.

Behavior is our Key, how they behave. So been equal has no bearing on been born equal. How we each behave is our foot print in society.

To be
To be kind...

I have thought a lot about this issue and I think the tribalism thing kicks in with really large groups. The face to face contact is missing, so beliefs, cognitive dissonance and tribalism all play a strong part.

Its not a conscious plan so nothing got figured out. It takes some real thought to plan how to get around all this in today's mixed up world.

I care about people, humans. I draw the line at the people who increase suffering because they can, not because it helps something else.

@remindjeff mostly different angles on the same question in order to narrow the vagueness in the first.

It’s not rare..but some of us get worn down by life and experience. It taints your view of others
I’m not allowed to care about anyone. That was taken from me.
