I have question why do then majority of ppl hide their identiy on here? I hide my identity on here because I write about some stuff I dont want ppl to black mail me about is it for similar reason you do same thing?
I feel the same but at the same time I'm constantly struggling with a desire to reach the point when people actually couldn't blackmail me because I'd be true to myself and honest about it.
@DudeistPriest Yes, but that's not what I meant. I meant that I wouldn't need to hide who I am because there wouldn't be a way to blackmail me both online and in real life. Most people hide things about themselves in fear that they wouldn't get a job or their family members would turn their backs on them. But some people reach the point when they decide to stop making a fuss about their secrets, they come forward and say "this is who I am" take it or leave it. And this world is funny enough that most people will get away with it because there's always a group of people who admire self-confidence above all.
After I had my "this is who I am" take it or leave it moment I noticed others also admired it when they actually came out and said it. I enjoy living in my skin, it's my own body after all. They had their chance in life and it's not fair to restrict, or try to live their life through, mine like a do-over. It's my life and I'm going to live it.
Yeah, a lot of people really do like that shit because they tend to live a Walter Mitty kinda life of powerlessness and you no longer do. A good role model I would say. More power to you.
I'm on another site and I post photos of myself on there. I just haven't been on here very long. However, I ain't too happy about them having my photos because once 1000+ people know you on a site, you start to worry someone might recognize you in person, and when you post your problems/insecurities/etc online, it could be awkward in person.
@Spoiledbrat That's a good point. I actually am most afraid someone would put two and two together while I'm at work. However, it's definitely paranoid. But still, it's possible.
@Deadcutie The ones that I know who understand my double entendres and lascivious alliterations I toy around with for cheap thrills. Like a cat who plays with its meal right before dinnertime.
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I'm sure the site staff knows this. The human need for expression and anonymity. And the market that it creates. Must be a click-bait heaven for this site.
@energie I enjoy being myself as well, with tact of course. As for the crybabies who don't like free speech, that's really their problem. Not my circus, not my clown.
I own a company and am fairly well known by those that use our products. Sometimes anonymity can be a good thing. I'm not hiding, I'm just not sharing everything with everybody.
I think you're not alone in that characterization. Think of how some people have actually gotten fired from their jobs after being doxxed. On the positive side, think of how anonymity provides a more secure way to express abundant honesty and how people truly feel about things. A lot of people are afraid of hearing how others really feel on a gut level. The inner psychological thing so to speak. But there you have it. Good question.
I don't intentionally hide -my commentary here is my real humour/views ect. i just don't feel the need to show my sexy face off coz I'd get too many fangirls obviously.
Because of some secrets that I would rather people who personally know me to not know about me. Like just some really personal stuff that I don't really tell people.
