Well one of two things. Either he didn't have the cash, which is hopefully not the case as ice cream costs a couple of dollars..or maybe he thought offering to pay for your ice cream would be considered sexist. I had that happen to me on a date not too long ago.

Then act like it's not a date at all and you have no intention to be something more than a friend to him.

That's sort of a turn off ... but maybe he's too shy and nervous.. good luck 🙂

The first date will tell me a lot about the girl I'm with. This will be her first impression on me. She will try her hardest I'm this singular event to impress me.

If she's not polite enough to offer to contribute to anything on the first date, she ain't ever going to contribute to shit.
