Anyone ever move to a different country to live?

How was the transition?
Like as far as getting there, the culture, learning the laws etc...I always wonder about that. How hard it must be. Especially if languages are different.

I know someone moving to Mexico next years but she doesn't speak Spanish and I'm like🤔

I moved to Italy for a bit. They HATED foreigners. The really funny thing is I looked just like them and they would ask me what part of Italy my family was from. When I told them they shouted at me to GO THERE! Some of the laws were really strange as well such as they could just kick you out of your residence if they wanted since you weren't a citizen.

@curiosi wth, won't be visiting there. I'd probably be jailed

@curiosi I met with a lot of kindness and help from Italians on the whole.

@Hasmita that's how they seemed to me too..I broke my foot there and everyone wanted to help me

@SW-User My experience of Italians is that they want you to be with them so they can interact face to face. They are very much of the senses and less cerebral than say the French. I have no delusions though.

@SW-User I lived in Umbria. Never got as far south as Sicily.
Spent a 6 month summer on a Greek island last year. That was really good.

@curiosi That’s a horrible way to treat people. I have heard that they have 3 prices in restaurants, one for Italians, one for foreigners, and the highest prices go to Americans. As beautiful as some places are in Italy I have no desire to visit and spend my money there. No offense to those who have a more welcoming attitude towards Americans.
