What do you think of organ transplants?

Would you donate your organs after death? Would you be willing to accept organs in case you need them?
Salix75 · 46-50, F
I'm registered as an organ donor, and think the system should be re-worked so that people opt-out, rather than opt-in.

Also, the wishes of the surviving family shouldn't trump that of the person who has agreed to be an organ donor

I am a donor.

There once were two chicks who were awesome,
From which, every creature could draw some
Good humor and fun,
Be it rhymey or pun,
And at times, maybe even haw-haw-some[/i]. 🤭

Absolutely, as long as de-animation is off the table. I'm not using them anymore.

I’m an organ donor. I can’t take them with me and I’d rather somebody have a better quality of life if they need it.

I am an organ donor. I hope and pray that after my death my body can be used to save a life or at least make a life better. I think accepting an organ from a donor when the alternative is death is a wonderful choice given to us by modern medicine.

They're a good idea but they don't last long.
Need to figure out how to beat the body's rejection of 'foreign tissue'.
Egg01 · 56-60, F
Yes and yes. I have kidney disease so I'm probably more likely to be receiving and organ in the future
Jlhzfromep · M
I am a registered organ donor. I do hope when I am gone that I can help someone
if you can get any that arent diseased and the body accepts it. the cost of getting them should be lowered they are extremely expensive to get.

I am an organ donor.
Unfortunately, I don't think my organs will be usable.
I have zero desire to extend my life, so I won't be accepting anyone else's organs.
I would like to donate my organs. Why not give them to someone who can use them versus just burying them away?
Axelerator · 26-30, M
Yeah I would, might as well use it to help someone else, not to mention. I don’t care if I’m buried anyway
midnightsun · 26-30, M
There will be 3d printed organs by the time I die so I don't think people will really need my shit
TexChik · F
They are outrageously expensive but will seriously prolong your life
kayoshin · 36-40, M
I think they are one of the best advances in medicine. Yes to the other 2 questions.
No and that may be be my call to make.

But when we are worth more, to the medical community, dead than alive, we become dead. All in the name of big dollar organ transplanting. This is now close to 1 out every 10. IF we are NOT listed as a donor they cannot do this! (unless a child and that lies on the parents)

GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
Yes to both questions
jackson55 · M
Sure, just spare parts.
Ian123 · 61-69, M
Yes to donating organs, but as to receiving them it would depend on what was wrong
grayhalo · 41-45, M
I wouldn't need them anymore so why keep them to myself?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I dunno to be honest.
