Imagine if how much everybody earns was visible to everyone?

Do you think that would change things, like make you consider how much others were earning for the jobs they did, as to how fair it all is?
No, because people just look at numbers and have no clue as to the historical work (blood, sweat, and tears) behind those numbers.

@BrewCityBarfly yeh but we're saying that not all these ppl have worked any harder than anyone else but they get paid a ridiculously high wage in comparison.
@JovialPlutonian That might be true in some cases. However, I rarely see that being sustained long term. In addition "work harder" is purely subjective. Early in my career, I could do just as much as the person next to me in half the time. It wasn't about him working harder, or me working less, it was just me having the capability to work faster. I would not want to see him penalized any more than me getting more of a raise, although my production capabilities were greater.

Also, I may have been doing the exact same work as another individual, but he was older and had more experience, and a person that has been working 30+ years should be rewarded more if nothing than to acknowledge the years of loyal service, as opposed to some hot shot just starting.

We normally don't lay off people who are smart or work hard.

@BrewCityBarfly I appreciate your views I just try to see a broad perspective, like what about an individual's desire to move around from job to job, why should they be penalised for not wanting to stay in one position. If there was a constant flow of work available ppl could do that and it wouldn't affect businesses in a negative way. What do you think?

It would just make people even more obsessed about how much others earn all the time lol

I'd charge people who earn a lot of money 50% more, up to them whether they took it or not.

What if you and your friend worked together, did the same job, just as well as each other but he earned 10% more than you@Stereoguy
