Compassion, yes but romantic love, not any more. I believe that it used to be common but these days among these people I strongly doubt that it is possible. There is infatuation, but that is a short term attraction that either grows into love or festers into a break-up. The kind of person who is built for lasting relationships went out of fashion entirely sometime in the 1970s. These are now men and women who are married to their work and women who live with lots of cats. The rest are too impatient or shallow. The only lasting relationships I have seen are where one is entirely dependent upon the other Or who dont care because there is lots of sex and money and they dont care what there partner does with whomever.
