Do you ignore most of your private messages?

I respond to the very few that I have been chatting to. The rest remain unread.

Not on purpose. They go the the message requests page. I just keep forgetting that page exists.

I don't do it intentionally, but many times I'm busy at the moment and end up forgetting to respond.

No. I ignore the ones from people I don't recognize, but otherwise I almost always answer.

Sigh.... At least you get PM's. It is very rare that someone messages me at all.
