Is it normal of me to be jealous of my step sister?
for some reason i always feel my step sister is superior to me, in everything. i am always mean to her even when she tries to help me with my problems. in the end i always feel jealous of her.

@NoniQu33n I understand that being jealous of someone can be very painful, and that having them help you can make you feel insecure. She kind of sounds like she genuinely has your best interests at heart, so maybe she'd understand if you just politely admitted that you're insecure? Again, I know that that sucks, but admitting jealousy is [i]extremely[/i] difficult, but step-siblings tend to strive for acceptence, so maybe you've got a shot there.

This is a self esteem issue, you don't have to compare to her at all. You need to look at yourself as worthy as you are, you are different to her because no two people are the same, we are all unique with different abilities, embrace who you are, and lift her up for being who she is too

My stepsister was seven years my senior. I adored her when I was growing up. She was the one who taught me to read before I went to school. She was the one who took me and my brothers to the movies (we had a movie house not far away)so we could see many Disney movies (cartoons then)and Mom didn't go.She was the first in our family to present my mom with a grandchild (actually, two) and called me for my first babysitting job at the age of eleven.
Stepsisters are a special breed. Especially if they are older than you are. They are different from blood sisters. but they are still related by one parent.
Don't be mean to her. Don't be jealous of her. Jealousy eats on you like nobody's business. I used to be jealous of my one brother (10 months my junior) but I got over it. Try to appreciate her for who and what she is - and she may surprise you in many ways.

Well, what if you start focusing on yourself, doing the things that you enjoy and that make you feel proud. [i]In other words, start doing things that make you feel superior[/i]. Also, I wouldn't recommend being mean, there's nothing to gain from ruining a healthy relationship between two siblings.

My stepsister was seven when I was born. She was bossy at times, but I was glad to have her at others. Don't be mean. Treat her more you want to be in a similar situation. It takes effort, but ignore the superiority. I did - and it worked.
