Should i feel guilty for wanting to take a break from volunteering ?

I've been a volunteer with a youth organisation for the last 15 years or so but after recently starting a family I have found that I have not been enjoying the volunteering as much, it has almost become something that I have to do not want to do. As much as I think I could do with a break from it I don't want to let people down.
Take a break and get back to it when you feel different

If you want and need to step back for a while you should. When your baby is older you can get back into it😊

@SW-User that's kind of what I am thinking get back into it when she is able to join in

@Kerrmit84 once they start school they settle down and it's easier, you've a few fun but crazy years in front of you. Your wife will have hard days and need you in the evenings.. I remember it only 2 well.

It's a personal choice and it's not easy. Perhaps it's not fun but it could be just overload. On the other hand if time volunteering is cutting into time that you should be dedicating to your own kids then no, don't feel bad your children need their parent.

It’s admirable to do 15 years volunteering and but you are perfectly entitled to give it up and devote your energies to you family

15 years volunteering without any kind of pay/ or reward that’s remarkably unbelievable

I know what you mean, but if you are not enjoying it its a sign you need to move on. Try something new

Sometimes you need to volunteer to help yourself

Not volunteering is not a reason for shame for the same reason that volunteering is a reason to feel good

Not at all. We all have to take care of ourselves first and we all get burned out. You have a family now and that is priority. No shame in having responsibilities. No one can do it all. At least not well.
