I’ve done it with a 140gal set up, but I’d love to try it with a 2,000 to 10,000 set up @Stereoguy

Over a 5 year period my 140 cost me about $7,000, lol@Stereoguy

@Stereoguy Honestly, no idea. A lot of the cost of my 140 was in custom fabrication parts I had to have to make it work. Most of the cost of a larger tank would be in the tank itself. Estimate about $1 per gallon for most tanks up to 200 gallons, and triple that for massive custom tanks like I'd need. All told for a 10,000 tank It'd probably be around $100K to make it self sufficient except for the water tops offs and occasional filter cleanings.

@Stereoguy Yeah, but immagine a massive tank for the view of your living room...500 neon tetras schooling, mating betta fish here and there, a small school of clown loaches and a large shoal of ottos all swimming around deadwood stumps and submerged water plants....heaven :-)
