Anyone had a brush with a potential serial killer/wrong 'un?

I have. I was fourteen and in a popular gay bar called The Mars Bar. I was with my girlfriend and we were drinking pints and having a fine time.
We were approached by an older woman who invited us outside for a smoke: of the ganja variety.
We walked down a few alleyways and into a Greek men's club where the occupants were playing cards and drinking coffee. We headed into the back, to the toilets. We all smoked up and a few minutes later we realized this dope was mixed with an hallucinogen.
This woman said she had something to show us. She lifted her skirt and showed us a healed wound on her leg.
She said she was shot.
When she was young and stupid.
Having cones with people she didn't know.
We legged it. Flagged down a cab, got home and tripped for six hours.

About six-and-a-half years ago, I was walking alone on a road early one morning, and saw one other guy in a park across the road. He looked really deranged or confused, and was ambling about in a zombie-like manner with no apparent aims. I had already woken up that day with a palpably uneasy feeling about nothing in particular, but when he noticed me, stopped briefly to stare, and then purposefully adjusted his zombie-like waddle toward me, my impression immediately went from "Hmm, wonder what the fuck's up with that dude" to a sudden absolute certainty that "If we approach each other, one of us is going to kill the other". I had a knife, he was carrying a small metal pipe. I ended up quickly dodging down some side roads and evading him without any trouble.

A couple months later, I saw his mugshot in the newspaper. He had bludgeoned one person to death in that area, and had attempted to do so to two others (the murder had already occurred by the time I encountered him).

Wow Glad you were safe.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@SweetMae Us too. To this day I don't know if she meant us harm or was teaching us a lesson.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Cavedweller Either way, I think you did learn a lesson.

@SweetMae Boy howdy I've never forgotten that incident and it changed my behaviour big time.

Met a guy in a park once who said hello and 5 minutes later said he'd been to prison for attempted murder.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@TheJagsman Red flag! Run away! Danger, Will Robinson, danger!!
TheJagsman · 26-30, M
@Cavedweller Yeah, at that stage I made an excuse about dinner and left

Glad you had enough sense to get out of there and good you made it.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@curiosi We practically FLEW out of there. We were fuelled on utter terror and LSD.
curiosi · 61-69, F
@Cavedweller I've never done LSD but I have heard where some lose rationality.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@curiosi It's an experience.

I was on a hiking trip through the Grand Canyon.

How did you get into a bar? At 14
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Anonymouslyyours86 In those days security was lax. We looked 18, the legal age for drinking here in Australia. Not a big deal.
