A person I know in real life gets really worked up about such things, usually because of something she's read and on the flimsiest of evidence, e.g. the Madeleine McCann disappearance. Its a massive tragedy for them and I think should be taken at face value. Too many are keen to jump on whatever bandwagon they see passing.
