i am too damn sensitive and emotional for this life..

so a while back my grandfather had these live chickens and was way too old school that he would kill them himself and prep it. Rather than go to the grocery store to buy chicken. So me being there in the wrong time he made me kill a chicken slitting its throat (the natural way)...let's just say he was disappointed and i felt like I was a disappointment to the family 馃様

Oh no, he'd no right to do that and you'd every right to refuse. I had a slightly similar experience and the memory has stayed with me to this day. Some otherwise decent people just can't understand.

@alan20 it's crazy cause I still vividly remember the blood dripping from its next and the big tub of water boiling so he can dump the body in there to pluck the feathers. but that's life ya know

@SW-User No its death. Can I tell you my story? My father had bought a chicken from a local farmer for Xmas dinner. He then hadn't the heart to kill it. He and my mother went to a nearby town to buy us kids something, and my granny who'd gone a bit senile, decided to do the job for him. She got me to bring in a kitchen chair, found a blunt knife and tried to decapitate it over the back of the chair. The poor thing escaped and flew from one end of the house to the other, blood streaming from it. My granny chased it with a saucepan, hitting it whenever possible; I don't know how long it took before it died. When my parents arrived back the house was like an abattoir. She got me to tell them some kind of lie to cover up but of course it was impossible. That and another incident with a neighbour, made me a vegetarian for life. So in my eyes you're a fucking hero to be "too damned emotional and sensitive for life".
