A young Benedict Cumberbatch in his rugby team (1980s)

Benedict Cumberbatch went to Harrow public school. His drama teacher Martin Tyrell, felt his posh background often got in the way of his true potential. He said:
“I feel that they are being limited from playing certain parts by critics and audiences as a result of what their parents did for them at the age of 13. And that seems to me very unfair. I don’t think anyone ever bought an education at Harrow in order for their son to become an actor.”
i like him a lot.. but he seems to always play the same role... the weird genius...

sherlock, dr. strange, khaan, turing.... there is a pattern, imagine him playing a village idiot

@Marceline true - i think its again pointing to what his teacher meant - being posh meant he couldn't maybe get to know a lot more about the other side of affair or try out certain roles because it wasn't his place to do so

Well, however he got there, he turned himself into a hell of an actor!
