Was Professor Snape virtuous?

I think he did the right thing for the wrong reason; it was good that he protected Harry from the shadows but he did it because he was the offspring of the girl he couldn't get over which is kinda creepy tbh. At least I think that's implied. The dude needs therapy; if you feel allegiance to someone because their mom loved you in high school (kinda) i think u got issues
