If you suffer mental health issues have you become a extropath or intropath?

This is not a cry for help or any sob story but rather to try to hopefully give someone out there a understanding of their disorder/'s. I have for years burned myself. Damaged myself in many ways. I'm currently getting EMDR for a host of issues ranging from deaths of brother.mother. father. Wife. So I'm constantly learning. I'm not ashamed to share this I just want to try to help others. Particularly younger people who cannot identify their issues. I'm no doctor or psychologist but I am fairly clued up on my own past issues. Please feel free to inbox me if you relate to any of the above. I care about others and NEVER want my children to go through this so constantly battle to educate myself. Here's one of 100s of examples of self harm I've done over many years.

Have you been diagnosed with a borderline personality disorder?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Thingschange4444 That sounds good. You can work it off that way. I have used a hatchet on a tree stump that needed to be cut down to the ground. Go out there and whack it till I was too tired to.
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
@cherokeepatti hahaha. I wouldn't have trusted myself with a axe years ago but it worked for you to relieve yourself of pent up anger/frustration and that's what counts. Venting in a positive way. 🙂

@Thingschange4444 Sometimes I get wound up and start cleaning closets, drawers and cabinets. I can do a fine job of it when I feel that way.

What’d you do to your hand? Reminds me of my youngest brother. He’s 13 now. He punches walls a lot when he gets angry.
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Sorry to hear that. Has ur little brother had any traumatic experiences. Or verbally expressed his fears or anger?

🤗Aaaaaaawwwweee,I wanna hug it!🤗@waleskinder

@Spitbak lol
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
That was punching through glass. But done lots more. Has your brother expressed his anger in any way verbally? Has there been any loses.abuse or anything that contributed to his behaviour as far as u know?
SW-User
He’s done that before too, but just scratched up his arm. No serious cuts. He’s yelled, but doesn’t say exactly what is making him that angry. There was abuse when he was younger, but he only in recent years started expressing his anger violently. Funny thing is, unless he’s cornered and feels threatened, I really doubt he’d hit another person. He seems determined to take his anger out on himself, but because he’s hitting things, no one else in my family shares my belief.

@Lostandconfused Just the inability I suppose to find a way of venting. I'm on the mend which is why I share this story.

@Lostandconfused I used to use drugs and was brought up in a very chaotic and violent home. There's probably many factors. Although I agree with ur initial comment as to why someone would do that to themselves. My only answer really is that I didn't want to hurt anyone else. I had terrible low self esteem and self worth. Things have changed over the years as I adress the issues that are all too clear to me now so I continue to work on myself and nothing like as bad as I once was. Thankfully. Thank u for ur honesty BTW. 🙂

🤔I truly believe we all suffer it in different ways but have our own ways of dealing with it!Of course, some more extreme than others for individual reasons!Another thing,I also believe we are our own doctors in the sense that only we know what is going on in our own minds,no matter how hard we try to paint a picure to help others see where we are!Life is a real mutherfucker and each of us have our own wars within! YOU have my prayers and I hope you get past destroying your body and help others rise above the pain!🤜🤛
