If you bought someone a gift and you bought something else, would you be heartbroken?

I got this very cute small backpack for my birthday last year and I love it so much but the zipper got caught and it broke. The teeth came out. I gotta get it fixed. I needed a backpack for school so I bought a bigger one, BUT only for school. My friends were like, "The zipper broke and you went on and bought another backpack? Your cousin and his girl are going to be so hurt about that. They think you don't like it." I love it. My school stuff won't fit my small back back so that's why I bought another one but I'm ONLY using it for school. I told them but they said, "Well use one your big purses! I can't believe you went on and bought another backpack. If I was your cousin or his girlfriend I would have been very hurt and dissapointed. Shame on you. You're lucky they don't know you have another backpack." I told them the zipper being broken wasnt the reason why I bought a new backpack. My backpack is for school." They were like, "Uh huh. Sure. If I were you, I would return that backpack or donate it to charity. You are ungrateful." Why are my friends making me feel guilty? You can have two backpacks right?? Should I return the backpack?
