Could it be possible to love your spouse more than your children?

Simplegirlstory · 31-35, F
I think people love children more than partner
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@Simplegirlstory I hope I'll have a partner that I won't have to feel like my love for them is weaker than for my children.
Simplegirlstory · 31-35, F
Best of luck, I wish same for me too :D
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@Simplegirlstory thank you

It’s a totally different love imo -the two can’t be compared

For my child I feel nurturing love-protective love-the love to build her up and make her the best person she can be..for my husband it’s an equal love of partnership, dreams, sharing life. I can’t explain very well @PurpleHearts

@SW-User I feel like nurturing, protective, building up and trying to make them the best person they can be, can apply to your spouse as well. And on the same coin, dreams and aspirations could apply to the love for your children as well. I don't know I'm not a mother, but they seem pretty similar to me.

I guess we must love in different ways. X@PurpleHearts

NO - you love them differently
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@nedkelly how differently?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@PurpleHearts I am not sure how to explain, but you love them to death but the love is just a different type of love

I haven't got a spouse and I haven't got any children.
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@NankerPhelge what do u think about it now? would've you done the same if u had the chance to re-write history?
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@PurpleHearts I still wouldn't get married and have kids. I've seen the way it's changed the lives of friends and that makes it even more offputting. Who in the right mind would want to give up their comfort zone for the sake of bringing a few noisy kids into a world they'll be perpetually dissatisfied with? Certainly not this fishy.
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@NankerPhelge Were your parents dissatisfied with you? You think they regretted having you?
VolpeTredici · 31-35, M
Probably. Seems a bit fucked up though.

@canusernamebemyusername do you know anyone?
@PurpleHearts I've know some yes. They stayed with a child abusing spouse and ignored what they were doing to the children.
PurpleHearts · 22-25, F
@canusernamebemyusername I guess, I mean love the spouse more, but still love the children as well (like not being indifferent towards them).
Miram · 31-35, F
My mother did.
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
Idk if its possible or not, but my parents always told me a parent should ALWAYS love and put their children first.

Not for me no

I couldn't love anyone more than my children. They're everything period.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
It's possible. Not all love needs to be ranked though. You could love both in the same measure.
