Did you know that when you use "tard" as a suffix, it's an indictment of YOUR intelligence and not the intelligence of your intended target?

@xixgun A hammer is a tool until used to strike someone, and then it becomes a weapon. Your point about the technical definition is correct, but semantically, our culture has transformed the word into an insult. Anyone using "tard"'as a suffix here is not using it to achieve anything beyond a childish insult in order to gain a few virtual high fives from within members of their chosen echo chamber.

In all fairness, I saw the terms "Republitard" and "Libtard" in the same thread. I'm not calling out one particular side. I'm talking about the overall state of discourse. This country has devolved to the point of poo and rock flinging tribes.

@SW-User totally agree with you, my comment was in no way a political comment to support one side or another, I am not American and in the left vs right debate I find both sides to be lacking in their ability to understand why their opponents think the way they do. that said, my comment WAS about the expression "libtard" simply because I hear it a lot and have never personally heard anyone use the expression "republitard", If I had, I would also think it sounds moronic and uneducated.

I know exactly what you're saying, and I agree. I just wanted to point out that I wasn't trying to jab just one side.

@Overwatch6 According to anyone with the ability to think critically and discuss issues beyond the level of a 3rd grader throwing rocks at someone else on a playground.

@Overwatch6 Using actual words is a start. Someone who can't frame their point without childish levels of insults is someone I immediately dismiss as not worth my time or consideration. Based on some of the responses I've seen, I'm not the only one. I'm starting to believe that the new silent majority are the level-headed people who are interested in collaborative solutions and cannot be heard above the wailing of the two tribes that have emerged. I've seen it on both sides of the spectrum, so I'm not pointing at one tribe or the other here.
