Today two people complemented me on my british accent today. Not even british haha

I'm australian, and I'd understand if it was like people from America saying it to me cause that's happened before, but they were also australian. Was amusing

Australian accent sounds pretty similar to some british accents tbh but i’m surprised someone from Australia got it wrong.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@NickiHijab Haha right? Like I'd understand if it was someone else from another country.

Were you whinging at the time ? Most Australians think if you were you must be a Pom.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@Tuscan and that's why I pointed it out.
Tuscan · 70-79, M
@SeductiveCactus My misinformed opinion of Aussie culture comes from a few episodes of Home and Away and Neighbours.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@Tuscan hahah oh gosh, I dont watch it but I do know a lot of people who do.

Really? Say something with your accent
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Haha. I've had a fellow American accuse me of a Canadian accent.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@ViciDraco I know a Canadian anand he just sounds like an American. He doesnt even do the stereotypical 'aboot(about)' thing.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@SeductiveCactus haha, I don't think I've actually meet a Canadian that does the aboot thing. Maybe they changed en masse because people mocked them for it!
